As an established community, the City of Watertown has developed an intricate storm sewer system to accommodate rain,

floodwaters and snowmelt within the community. The City's storm sewer system is designed to carry storm runoff into storm sewers, drainage ditches and holding ponds, and provide treatment prior to the water entering the Crow River drainage way.

In January of 2005, the City developed and adopted a Surface Water Management Plan that outlines the City's goals and objectives to address storm water. In addition, the Plan identifies general development policies that are designed to reduce the potential of flooding and storm water pollution associated with future growth in and around Watertown. For more information on the Plan, email the City of Watertown at info@ci.watertown.mn.us or call (952) 955-2681.
