Absentee Voting and Absentee Ballot Application

2010 General Election Absentee Voting is available as of Sept. 17th at the following locations:
CARVER COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER
CHANHASSEN SERVICE CENTER (NEW)
You may vote by absentee ballot only if:
- You are going to be absent from the precinct on election day;
- Illness or disability prevents your going to the polling place;
- Religious discipline or observance prohibits your attendance at the polling place;
- You are an election judge in another precinct; or
- Eligible emergency declared by the governor or quarantine declared by federal or state government.
You must apply for an absentee ballot before voting. You may pick up an absentee ballot application now at the Carver County
Government Center, Taxpayer Services Dept., at 600 E. Fourth Street in Chaska. You may also request an application by mail or fax. You can apply
online by going to the Carver County web site at:
www.co.carver.mn.us. Absentee ballots are available June 25 - Aug. 9 for the
Aug. 10 primary, and Sept. 12 to Nov. 1 for the Nov. 2 General Election.
If you are in the Military or residing outside the territorial limits of the United States, you may vote by absentee ballot
using the address where you last lived in Minnesota. A special application form is required. Your parent, spouse, brother, sister, or child at
least 18 years of age may request a ballot for you. If you are in a hospital, nursing home, or other health care facility, contact the
Taxpayer Services Department at 952-361-1910 for further information.
